I had the honor this weekend of getting to take newborn portraits of an adorable little boy. He was amazing through the whole session and only cried when we tried to put a hat on him that was a tad to small. Needless to say that hat came off pretty quickly and then he was happy again. We were able to get several wide awake baby pictures, During this time I tried to get some of the really cute propped up baby pictures however found that this did not work so well when the little man was awake. He was just a bit to wiggly. I had a lot of fun with this shoot since I love babies ( but who doesn’t) and getting to hold and coo with one while taking pictures is amazing. We did most of the photo ession inside in his nursery so that he would remain warm and secure in his surroundings and I think this worked out quite well. There was a large window that allowed plenty of natural light and I also used my fill flash to make sure that we didn’t have many harsh shadows. We did Head outside for some family portraits and the little guy promptly fell asleep but that was ok once we got back inside I was able to try and get the propped up baby portrait again and it worked much better. the center picture below is what came out of the little sleeping man.
